Our purpose
Clarity in the snack aisle
Junk Food Scan helps people find packaged food information without digging through multiple databases or treating a single number as the whole story. The app brings available nutrition details, ingredients and comparisons into one place.
Our approach
Explain the rating
JFS shows the nutrition and ingredient signals behind its own product rating. Our ratings are a product-comparison tool, not medical judgments or official government nutrition grades. When records do not contain enough reliable data, JFS may withhold a rating.

Our data
Sources and limitations
JFS uses available records from USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts. Different packages, markets or database updates can produce different details. We encourage everyone to verify the package label.

Editorial principles
Useful, source-aware education
Our guides focus on practical questions about packaging, labels, data quality, and the JFS experience. Articles link to relevant sources where appropriate. We correct misleading or outdated information when identified, and we do not invent qualifications or claim professional medical review.
