A transparent heuristic
Ingredient quality contributes 20% of a full-data JFS rating. The current JFS heuristic rewards simpler ingredient lists and can reduce the component score for longer lists and selected processing-complexity signals.
Learn how JFS uses ingredient-list complexity as a scoring heuristic, including simpler lists and selected processing-complexity signals.

These ingredient signals are used as a scoring heuristic. They do not mean an ingredient is toxic, unsafe, or unsuitable for an individual user.
A JFS product rating uses multiple factors together. No single nutrition or ingredient signal determines whether a product is appropriate for you.
