JFS scoring explainer

Sodium in JFS scoring.

Learn how sodium affects a JFS rating, why values are normalized, and how lower sodium contributes to the current scoring model.

How JFS treats sodium

In a full-data JFS rating, sodium contributes 20% of the score. Lower sodium values receive a higher component score under the current JFS scoring rules.

Why the value is normalized

When reliable serving-size information is available, JFS normalizes nutrition values to a per-100 g or per-100 mL basis so products can be compared more consistently.

See it in context

A JFS product rating uses multiple factors together. No single nutrition or ingredient signal determines whether a product is appropriate for you.
