JFS scoring explainer

Synthetic colors in JFS scoring.

How selected synthetic color names appear in the JFS ingredient-quality heuristic.

What JFS detects

The current ingredient-quality heuristic can recognize selected color names such as Red 3, Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Blue 1, Blue 2, and Green 3 when they appear in the source ingredient text.

What that does not mean

Detection is a processing-complexity signal inside JFS. It is not a medical, toxicity, allergy, or safety determination.

See it in context

A JFS product rating uses multiple factors together. No single nutrition or ingredient signal determines whether a product is appropriate for you.
